National Express Senior Commercial Development Analyst in Lisle, Illinois

Description

National Express LLC (“NELLC”), a nation-wide leader in student transportation, is currently seeking a Commercial Development Senior Analyst to join our Commercial Development and Strategy Team and work from our Lisle, Illinois location. This position reports to the Director of Commercial Development and will be responsible for assisting with the pricing of new and existing business opportunities, performing deal due diligence, preparing pricing models, providing support to the Business Development Team, and assisting with strategic planning and internal commercial reporting.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing financial models (discounted cash flow analyses, market rate comparables) in order to analyze new and existing business opportunities and develop pricing recommendations;

  • Maintaining and improving NELLC’s core pricing model, including owning / validating key cost assumptions and updating annual rate changes based on analysis of operational cost increases, capital and staffing plans, and projected financial return thresholds;

  • Generating deal summaries and maintaining a history of deal results for utilization in business reporting;

  • Producing written and excel reports as well as power point decks to outline business opportunities and analysis for Operations, Business Development, and Senior Management;

  • Supporting internal commercial reporting efforts, including but not limited to monthly commercial Board-related documents, ad-hoc reporting, etc.

  • Assist in the creation of the annual customer segmentation and predictive analytics to help determine customer risk and opportunity.

  • Providing overall management and strategic analysis on the adherence to the overall retention strategy of the business, including potential new leads, ongoing history of bid results, etc.

  • Interfacing with all areas of the organization (Operations, Marketing, FP&A, and Business Development);

  • Ensuring continuous improvement and the implementation of best practices across the organization; and

  • Assisting with training and developing new employees or other functional areas.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA a plus;

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in professional / public accounting, banking, FP&A, or equivalent;

  • Experience in the financial analysis field including experience with modeling, presentations, and reporting systems;

  • Working knowledge of modeling software to prepare reports and conduct financial analyses;

  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other MS-Based applications with particular reference to MS Excel and MS PowerPoint;

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities;

  • Must be able to build and sustain productive relationships with all business functions and be comfortable interacting with senior management;

  • Highly organized with a logical and methodical approach; and

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
